    67 body mount

    Dear Members,

When I pull the body off the frame and secure the shims at the bolt positions(number and bag them) Can I expect the body to sit down flush/level again with the same number and thickness of shims? Will the body settle down like it was before with new body mounts? Thank you much!

    Justin,

Yes, it will settle down exactly like it is now in about 40 years. Jokes aside the body may have to be re-shimmed at the radiator support and the rear mount above the rear wheels. This won't be much and maybe not required at all. Just check the crack around the doors and it will tell you what to do. I am assuming this is a roadster. If it's a coupe I would not worry.

    Regards,

    JR

      JR,

Thank you much for the info, it is a coupe and I will expect not much different when the body goes back on the frame. I have bagged the rad. support shims and it was an equal amount at the four bolt positions. Thanks again!
