Recently removed cable from car to clean and lubricate. Pulled cable out of casing but cannot remember which end goes where. One end has brass bushing with AC logo on it , I think this can out of small end (head). When removing it the cable had to be pulled very hard as there was carbon? build up on portions of the cable . I'm assuming there may also be a buildup inside the casing. How do I clean it out? Thank you in advance for any and all help.

Re: C2 speedometer cable help
Larry,
I just checked an extra cable I have and the brass stopper was on the small end.
Also I have had good luck using WD40 for all cables .Tac/heater/vent/etc.
I have not had to remove the inner cable. Hold the cables in a vertical position and keep spraying WD 40 in one end until the cables slide freely.
Hope this helps
