storage door lock and door paint

Could someone please confirm that the 1961 center seat separator and storage compartment door are painted body color and how is the lock remove on the compartment door?

Hi Ray. Can't help with the paint question as I am new at this C1 thing, but the lock question is easy. On the top of the cylinder holder inside the door, there is a small hole. With a straightened paper clip you should be able to push down a release tab and everything will fall apart. There may be two of the little tabs but only one is the release. If somebody installed the tumbler upside down (yes, it can be done) the release tab will be opposite the access hole and you are on your own. Also, if the bezel isn't too tight, you may be able to simply unscrew it. Pat G.

I have a Jewel Blue 1961 and the seat separator door and storage compartment are painted body color. Lock removal is as Pat has described.
