Aside from any body work, what experience has members had with the price of a paint job on their shark? Thanks in advance for your answers.

Re: Fair Cost for a Paint Job on My '69 Convertibl
I have a receipt from September 1997 for painting my 69 convertible (Monza Red). Although it is old, it might give you some idea.
Parts (door seals, decklid seal, side emblems) - $526.30
Labor to install parts (4.6 hours @ $38/hr) - $174.80
Paint and body materials - $835.97
Labor for paint and body work - $3758.20
Body work was not extensive, but this was before I owned the car.
Regards,
Chris- Top

Re: Fair Cost for a Paint Job on My '69 Convertibl
Rick,
In NYC area my 69 got painted (1999 price qoute) at a reputable shop for: paint ONLY $8,500. Expensive but it is in the metro NY area, paint is flawless (is enamel c/c). Others will give you wildly different prices depending on area of US, expectations of work (i am VERY picky with paint, what some see as "acceptable" or a "good paint job" I see as crap). My .02.........

Rick, I would only add one thing...After you have gone carefully over an entire vehicle five or six times with different grit sandpaper, $10K begins to look cheaper and cheaper. It's hard to understand how inflation can happen in the mind!- Top
