    1960 Soft Top W/S

The front steel rails (horizontal) on both sides have two barrel nuts with screws and one screw at the front, near the header. Is this screw suppose to thread through the rail and into the header? Or just into the steel rail? When it screws into the header, you can no longer adjust the side rail back and forth without removing the screw and then the header hole will not line up with the screw. I have nothing to use as a guide to get this right.

Where do the two W/S wedges mount at the header? what orientation? and how? When should they be installed?

    Joe,
I'll help if I can. The wedges; I had to ask Al Koch's top man, Gilbert because Corvette Rubber wasn't sure how they fit! Drivers side: (and this is going to be hard to explain I fear) the wedge shape is trangular one side of the triangle has a small raised part (rectangular) in the corner. This area is the outmost top corner. The longer part of the triangle goes toward the w/s header bar, the short side fits on top of the side window horizontal. These wedges do have a "R" and a "L" molded in I recall for left & right. IMO '56 to w/s best not to use the wedge. I use a short piece of door weatherstrip which was that was there originally ('56).

I can't follow your front steel rail question, sorry. Sounds like your horizontal front side rails over the window are two pieces which allow for minor length adjustments. '56 Corvettes are this way but I thought later years changed to one piece horizontal rail with no adjustment. Regards,
