Ain't gonna happen! Their is a so-called "Blue Devil", which may be a Corvette based "supercar" prototype, boosted to around 600 HP, however, if it ever reaches production it will likely be badged as a Cadillac to compete with similar offerings from the European luxury marques.

The LS7 for the '06 Z06 will likely come in at 475-500 HP. There are rumors that is will be 7.0 liter, but 6.4 is more likely, and it will probably have three valve heads.

As late as a couple of months before the C6 was announced the major magazines were referring to the C6 engine as "5.7 liter". Due to some information that was ferretted out on the web (then quickly disappeared) by an astute Corvette Forum member, it was clear that the engine would be called LS2 and would be 6.0L.

That same list of engine options showed a LS7 6.4L, which is likely the Z06 engine. Although this information is now nearly a year old, I don't think there is enough time since then for GM to increase the size to 7.0L, even if they wanted to.

BTW the LS2 has siamized bores with cast in iron liners and the dimensions are 4.000 x 3.625. The LS7 at 6.4L will be 4.060 x 3.78, and it will probably also have cast in iron liners. The 7.0L C5R engine measures 4.125 x 4.125 and I believe it is linerless. GM appears to still be gun shy about linerless blocks, but IMO they have been perfected for over 20 years. In fact they were perfected by GM in the last couple of years of the Vega.

Siamesed cylinders in a small block chevy? Hail the ghosts of the SBC 400, one of which resides in my '86 GP and guess where it's going when I find the '89 vette? I think the light alloy linerless engine block has been perfected, but only for "throwaway" engines. IMO GM et.al. have no interest in making engines or any part of cars rebuildable.
