    C4 1989 Replacement radio suggestions

I have a question for the C4 people. I've totally given up on the original Delco/Bose system and would like some suggestions on a reasonable replacement. I already have a complete set of new aftermarket speakers but still need the receiver. I don't need or want anything fancy with portable controls and portable dishwasher, hair dryer and phone, just good tunes and CD. No cassette needed. I've seen a few that look like they came out of Flash Gordons space ship so if there's something that looks a little closer to the original black face unit, that would be excellent. Thanks

Most of the modern auto CD players are rapidly going in the direction of the "Flash Gordon" appearance units which you describe. However, that does not mean that they are necessarily expensive. Some sell for just a bit of $100. Of course, if you don't like the looks of the se units, that's another matter.

Anyway, my suggestion to you is to consult the Crutchfield web-site. Crutchfield has a HUGE selection of auto sound units and is, in my opinion, the BEST place to purchase any auto sound product you may desire. Whenever I'm in need of auto sound components I don't even consider anywhere else. Also, you can call Crutchfield for assistance and they can help you with further information.

One other thing that I could suggest if all else fails is to go to a non-Bose original radio. That would give you a 100% stock dash appearance with a conventional radio which would use non-amplified speakers. The problem is that there was never a non-Bose unit made for a Corvette which included CD. The non-Bose units were cassette-only.

      Re: C4 THANKS JOE

I'll check into the Crutchfield site. Sounds like a good direction.
