    67 turn signal switch

    Dear Members,

I have removed the switch and some small plastic pieces fell out of the collar. Some black and some red. The emergency flasher switch was on the floor. The red switch cam on the pink body is missing the curved end piece which I think holds the turn signal in place at a stop. Are there any 67, 68 car which have interchangeable turn switches, Chevelle, Corvair? Does G.M. have a replacement? I think Jace Holt just put one in his 67 that recently went out. Should I simply get the $60 part from Paragon? Thank you much!

    Justin,
I believe that the 68 vette TS switch will interchange for the 67.

      Re: 67 turn signal switch

I was in my local corvette shop the other day, and a guy was returning the same switch that had failed.(broke as you described) It was the second one in 3 weeks that had broken on him. They suggested he had another problem that was causing the failure, but I think the quality of the plastic is poor. He mentioned that his original had lasted over 30 yrs.

        Re: 67 turn signal switch

        Justin,

I rebuilt my whole steering column from the lower bearing up and bougt all of the parts from Long Island corvette except for the turn signal switch circuit which I bought from my local Chevy dealer as a GM replacement. My turn signal problem was just a loose connection at the flasher can. All is well now and I am very pleased with all of the new parts.

By the way I think you are restoring the same color combo 67 as my 67 roadster, Marina Blue with white blue interior correct? I love the color combo and am just about done with mine.

        Good Luck,
        Jace Holt

            Hey Jace & Justin,
My '67 matches your color combination! I still get a lot of compliments on it; Duntov Award and signature by Zora himself.
Are your's convertibles and do they have A/C?

Marina Blue With White /Blue Interir

                Hi Kent,

I will be having my 67 Blue roadster flight judged for the first time in June @ Breckenridge Colorado. I am curious did you paijnt your car with Laquer? I did not and am assuming a big hit in points. Other than that I think my 35,000 mile car will do well.

                Thanks,
                Jace Holt

Re: Marina Blue With White /Blue Interir

                  Jace,

We painted it with laquer about a year after it was sprayed with euro-primer even though it's a no-hit car. We immediately had it judged at Cypress Gardens in January 1994, PV passed at Calloway Gardens in Spring '94 and received the Duntov Award at Seven Springs in July '94. The laquer has subsisted extremely well, but then, it is always garaged and only has 773 miles since restoration.

Hope you do well in judging even with the other paint.
