My '57 continues with a serious skipping problem. Yesterday I checked which cylinders weren't firing by swapping around ignition wires, etc. The answer was perhaps a tip to the nature of the problem. All the misfiring cylinders are on the left side of the engine! Could this be due to the intake manifold plenum design? I assume four cylinders are supplied by one carburetor barrel and the other side of the engine by the other barrel of the carb.
Is the design of the aluminum manifold like this? If it is, it could be pointing at the carburetor as the culprit.
Thx,
Michael
