    Pat:

Sort of in the same boat. Need a good '71 emergency brake handle. I'm going to search at Bloomington and Carlisle this year for a replacement.

    Wish you good luck!

      That makes three of us...........

Surely there must be enough demand for a vendor to start repairing/repoing these handles???

Good luck to you guys too. Hopefully one of the major vendors monitors this board.

          Got the same problem.
I'm happy not to get a chrome chip in my fingers :-)

What's about the handle Eckler's offers?

It's hard to find a good one as I have bought them up for my own use at all major swap meets. Expect to pay $250. and up as the vendors know a good one is rare. Lyle I have a bunch I need new chrome on.

Actually there is a way to re-chrome the plastic. I have not done it yet because i haven't purchased the choroming kit from Caswell Plating since the entire setup is a little expensive. First you need to paint the plastic with a paint that contains a high amount of conductive properties (Caswell sells such a paint but I'm sure there are other local sellers). Then the conductive paint can be plated using their Copy Krome system or their regular chrome plating system. As I said I haven't tried it yet but all their other products work very well so i'm sure that this will too. I am thinking of trying it and offer the service to NCRS members to defray the costs.
