Can someone cross-reference the GM P/N 5649561 PVC valve for a 1962 Corvette for me into a current brand and part number? I got the GM part number out of the 1962 AIM. TIA, John.

Re: C1 PVC valve help
John - This will be of no help. I have 4 1962 cars, all fitted with the CA PCV option. You are not going to find the correct PCV valve at Auto Zone, NAPA or anything like it. The valve is a machined item, you can take it apart and clean it and probably use it forever. I'd recommend a good swap meet or an ad in the NCRS Driveline. Best, Dennis P.S. If you just want a valve that will function, and originality is of no concern, there are probably a multitude of valves out there that will get the job done.- Top

Re: C1 PVC valve help
John------
The current PCV valve for your application is a GM #6421934 otherwise known as AC-Delco CV 590C. This valve will function perfectly but it is NOT configured exactly like the original valve. It is a "sealed" type valve and cannot be dis-assembled for servicing, although it can be easily cleaned and reused without disassembly as can most PCV valves. As Dennis mentioned, the original valve used threaded-together ends and could be dis-assembled for servicing.
The original valve, in exact original configuration, is EXTREMELY difficult to locate. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
