67 speedo/tach lens

Dear Members,

My plastic lenses are rather scratched and they are p/n 6406425. I see that the part suppliers only sell glass ones. Are mine plastic because one was drilled for the speed warning knob? Are everyone else's plastic too? Just curious because I'm going to try to polish these out. Thanks again!

Yup, they're plastic (just the speedo and tach) because of the speed warning option.

Justin,

If your car is an original speed alert car and still has the original tack face in decent shape and not faded, I have a question. Could you tell me what colors are used on the redline in the tack? Thanks,

Michael,
My 67 300hp/327 4-speed coupe is an original speedo-alert car. Yellow starts on the tach at 5000 and continues to 5300. 5400 and 5500 are an orange color. A tad lighter than say the needle. The original plastic speedo and tach lenses are a little faded and scratched, but the actual faces of the two gauges are dead mint. Hope this helps!

Thanks Justin, I have more info coming on this and when I have it, I'll probably start a new post. There definitely seems to be a substantial difference in colors when the assy is used with speed alert.

I have a definite confirmation from two people of a different color used with speed alert but until I have the pic's or proof in hand, I'll hold off on this for now and repost later.

Both owners have 390 HP cars and they said the colors were definitely orange to dark red, not the yellow to red were familiar with. Could be something with the different redline of a big block that makes it different than yours?? Different location of the redline?
