I'm pretty sure that I know what yer all gonna say but I thought that I would ask anyways. My 69 is almost ready for paint and I'm doing a body off on it to the specs of the 1968-69 TIM&JG. It's a silver with black interior L36,auto,coupe and is matching numbers except for the alternator. Now my question, what would you all think if I changed the exterior color? Would this really affect the market value of it, keeping in mind that it would still be a stock 1969 color, probably black? My future plan for the car is to sell it when it's finnished and look for another one to restore. I personaly don't mind the silver I just think that it is kind of a drab color for this year. Any thoughts??
I need your thoughts on my paint decision.

If you're going to sell, keep it original for the value. If you plan to keep it a while, paint it whatever makes you happy. Just remember the $ impact. I would say twice the cost of the paint job!- Top

General rule of thumb for buying a non-original color "collector" car, Deduct the cost of returning the car to original from the "done correctly" value to obtain an price at which to buy. In other words, it is lost money if you plan to sell the car.Bill Clupper #618- Top

if you are going to sell then keep original color, if you are not do what makes you happy, personally, I think silver is a good looking color for the sharks. To each his own, to thine own self be true.Michael
