Augie,
I just sent my original 67 relay to J. Pirkle to get rebuilt. I think it's somewhere around $35 to get the total overhaul, re-plating etc. This is cheaper than the $45 replacement part the suppliers sell. I don't know about interchangeability with other Chevy's, as I went though this last week on the forum with no answer about other models. I do know, however, the junk yards are littered with the p/n 1119 515 voltage regulators and the p/n 1964086 5mf capacitators. J. Pirkle also rebuilds these, but check the bottom left two digits because the first # is the year and the second is the month. This should help to correspond within the window of your build date. Much Luck!
these were Delco Remy 1115837 parts for '66 and '67. Yes, you will find them on '66 and '67 Chevy passenger cars, BUT.... There was a translucent plastic insulator that surrounded the lower contacts and ran across the relay's side terminal. If the relay has been exposed to sun/weather for any appreciable period of time (VERY common in scrapyard cars sitting with their hoods off), the plastic will have dried out, discolored and is almost IMMEDIATELY prone to chipping/flaking....
There's very little anyone (even Col. Pirkle) can do to fix this. That's why the '837 horn relay commands the price it does relative to other Corvette horn relays. You have to stumble across a 'fresh' well cared for '66/67 Chevy that's just come into the yard to be your donor. I find, maybe, 2-3 per year in my random walks around the western scrap yards. Good luck!
