My 1967 speedometer appears to have problems. No matter how fast I go the top speed indictated is 30 m.p.h. The trip odometer works just fine. I have replaced the outer/inner cables and the blue gear at the tranny. I was told that the speedometer head had been replaced/rebuilt. Has anyone ever seen these symptoms before? If I am pulled over by the MOD police over here in the UK I don't think they are going to buy my 30 mph story. Please help.
Jimmy Blakely
Based upon your symptoms, I'd say that there's just about a 100% chance that your speedometer instrument is bad and it's going to need to be replaced or PROPERLY rebuilt.
