A/C Set Up Question - '77 Compressor Replacement

    Hi Everyone,

The Harrison R4 A/C compressor on my '77 failed this weekend. Fortunately it didn't run long enough in that condition to throw the belt. I've purchased a rebuilt unit and am ready to install it.

My question is this: I understand I need to put 6 oz. of esther oil in the system. Some people have told me that I need to pour it directly into the compressor. Is this true? And if so, does it go in the high side, or the low side?

    As always, many thanks.

    Cheers!

It doesnt really make any difference where it is, just that it is. If you pour it into the compressor, make sure you turn it over a few times to clear it before running the compressor.
