    battery tender

I think my battery tender might be bad. I had it on for just a short time and when I felt it it was real hot. are those things susposed to be hot but this was like it was on fire! has anyone had this?

It should not be more than warm to the touch. Is it charging continuously (i.e. the red light on all the time)? If so, there may be a problem with the battery or some other sort of significant current drain in the car.

      Re: battery tender

      1) Bad battery cells causing excessive draw
      2) Low supply power to charger
      3) Wires crossed (been there done that)
      4) Bad unit as a result of #2
      5) Just a bad unit.

Like Joe said, should be no more than warm to the touch. Theyre pretty straight forward Lyndon

        Lyndon,

Try it on a known good battery/vehicle and see if it reacts the same.
