That makes sense. I guess it would have to be something that loads and unloads quickly, as you said. I just never paid any attention to the engines in the rack or when they were removed because the first engine dress station was so interesting to me. I know I took a few pic's of the engines in the racks but if I remember correctly, none were close-up enough to show the details. I'll look and if I find something, I'll send it to you. I think I have one shot of a fork lift truck either loading or unloading an engine from the rack but I don't know if that pic is here or still in Illinois. (I really need to get the rest of those pic's down here)
I have a "real world" pic that I took in the last years of the St. Louis plant operation that you will enjoy. Unlike some of the pic's that GM took, this was the real assy line and the actual everyday occurances that went on. I'll send it. I'm sure you'll enjoy.
