John: If you can get a copy of Nolan Adams' book you will find reference to this part on page 350 in the section devoted to '66. He states that "The K66 system used a fully transistorized voltage regulator assembly, part number 1116368. When K66 was combined with C60, the regulator was part number 1119515. Serial number 108227 (8227) reported its regulator marked "1116368 12V N, 4L.' The date code indicates November of 64." No mention is made in the 65 or 64 section of this application. However, if the regulator on this 66 was dated November of 64 there is reason to believe that it very well could have been used on 65's and perhaps even earlier. I have a NOS 1116378 voltage regulator dated late '63. Contact me off the board by e-mail if you are interested in purchasing it. Jeff

Re: '64 Transistor Voltage Regulator
Loren: Thanks for the info on the voltage regulator. I thought the 3 was for 63 since the part is in a pull string box. and I was under the impression that these boxes were long gone by the 70's. If you know, when did GM move away from these boxes? Thanks again. Jeff- Top
