    67 radio speaker connectiioin

How do the speaker wires connect to the radio? I had the radio repaired at a local shop. Two speaker wires come out of the radio. These have bare ends. I assume that the two wires(green and green w/ black stripe)coming out of the female connector that clips on the instrument panel brace are supposed to lead to the radio. These two wires have eyelets on their ends. There must be two screws or studs to bolt the eyelets to. Where are they? Please reference sheet U69, page G450 in the assembly manual.

    Any guidance will be appreciated.

Randy I just removed the speaker from mine last week.(67 Coupe) It appears to be the original. The wires are soldered to the speaker terminal and have a plastic plug on the end that goes into the radio. The replacement speaker has the same set up . I can e-mail a picture of both-tommorrow if you want?

The eyelet lugs attach to the back of the radio under hex head screws, one is near the middle portion of the black heat sink and the other a few cm. above that area, on the case if I recall. Look to see if your wires with the bare ends are attached in this fashion, if so my guess would be someone just cut off your old output wires.

My 67 coupe has the green & black wires soldered to the speaker. On the radio the green wire lands on the heatsink while the black wire lands on the case (ground) using eyelets. There is a tee shaped plastic plug in the wiring between the speaker and the radio. The black wire is connected to the "horizontal" plug in the tee housing. Reference AIM sheet U69 - A2. There is also a clip on the radio "plug" that attaches to the framework under the dash.
