    Re: C2 Air Hose Installation

    Ronnie,

First, a tip on getting the old ones off. Don't cut vertically with your knife as you may score the "sealing beads" on the fitting which will cause small leaks. Cut on a diagonal as shown in shop manual, like sharpening a pencil with a knife.

On putting them on, use some refrigerant oil on the inside of the hoses. It is a "tuff putt" but they will go on. I found there are no "do overs", once it is on it is on so plan accordingly. You may also use refrigerant oil on the o rings at the fittings.

Remember the dryer should not be exposed to the air for a long time otherwise the desecant will absorb moisture. When you are installing this hose try to minimize the exposure time.

One last tip. The hose that runs from the muffler to the pipe on the side of the STV valve. This hose makes almost a 90* bend. Orient the hose to use the natural curvature of the hose (should have some curvature as it is stored on a reel)to make this bend otherwise it may kink like mine did (that's how I know)

Shop manual says torque new hose clamp to 35 inch pounds
