58 What are the proper finishes for the hood hinges, hood support and the area forward of the radiator ie the front "nose" section fiberglass of the front clip assembly including the radiator baffle. Also are the undersides of the front fenders that are visable in the wheel well painted too (then undercoated)?
Thanks, Ken
Ken,
The hood hinges and latches should be blacked out as they were in place when the blackout process took place. The hood support and fasteners should show no black out and be cad/zinc plated. The support was installed at a later time.
All of the area in front of the radiator including the baffle should be blacked out. THe wheelwells should be blacked out, but only to the extent you cauold see them from outside the car. I have not seen the inside tops of the fenders painted. Normally the inner fenders are blacked out up to the bondline with the fender and also the area around the headlights and turn signals is blacked out before undercoating. I am used to seeing bare fiberglass on the underside of the fender tops, and usually the undercoating was limited to the back of the headlights and the face of the splash pans.
