Ok, bubba struck again. Apparently when the right front of my 63 was hit (way back yonder) the heater box took a whack also. Instead of replacing it, bubba used a piece of tin from a "Browns" Lacquer Thinner can and riveted it to the box. This was then covered with gobs of fiberglass resin mix and painted heavy black paint. Fortunately the firewall is not damaged at all. This was good news.
This box can be replaced. I already have a new heater core but will have to order an outer box also. I have to decide whether or not to salvage the blower motor. I did not test it but believe It worked, but it looks like pretty bad. Would take a lot to clean it up. But, I'd like to keep it if I can. Will want to test it somehow first.
A: Can I hook a battery up to it to test it?
B: Anyway ever hear of Brown's?
Thanks
