67 pedal assembly removal

Dear Members,
I want to remove assembly to paint and rebuild. I have taken out the steering column, powerbrake booster, and instrument cluster on my coupe. I have undone the two bolts which hold up the pedal bracket to the frame-bar behind cluster. I have undone the two nuts on the engine side of the pedal studs. My 67 AIM doesn't show me anything else. What am I missing? I try to slide out the clutch pedal, but it hits the drop in the cowl area. What else is holding the assembly to firewall? Thank you much!

Justin -

The only thing holding it in is the studs through the firewall and the two bolts up into the crossbar behind the cluster. You can't remove the clutch pedal until the assembly is out of the car. It'll come out - probably just stuck on the inside of the firewall from the mastic on the dash mat.

Thanks for the advice! I'll give it try later this morning and have a look under the insulation and the firewall.
