Date code on a C1 radiator

I pulled a dysnfunctional incorrect radiator from my '60. It has a 56M code on it. Does this mean December 1956 which would make it suitable for a 1957 of an appropriate corresponding date?

Thanks. It was helpful, but not useful. I've found two differenct foil tags that can go on a '62. I've found nothing about a switchover, though.
