C1 package tray: plastic or fiberglass?

It's taken me about three months to recognize the package tray in the '62 that's supposed to be there, isn't. Various catalogs list the part as being press molded fiberglass, while others say injection molded plastic. What was the original piece? (my guess would be fiberglass, but I've no idea.) Thanks!

      Rob,

What happened when you tossed something in the tray which wasn't there during those three month? I wonder if you shouldn't have noticed it earlier when you found your sweets between the passengers feet all the time... ;-)

      greetings,
      Rob.
