Dead T3 low beam filament (62-340)

Just when I thought I was getting close to having the beast back together, I went for a spin tonight and got a few comments from passerby that the right headlamp was out. At home, all four highbeam filaments come on, so it's not a wiring issue. All appear to be repro T3's (they all look brand new) without DOT on them. Strangely, all except the driver's side low beam have clear glass within the triangle, while the driver's side low beam has vertical bars within the triangle
In any case, I assume I'm hosed and need to buy a whole new unit- Is there a vendor that sells individual non-DOT T3 low beams?I can only find them in pairs or sets of 4. Thanks!

You can find them all the time on ebay. Try t3,t-3, or t 3

      Rob:

I believe that the reproduction T3 headlamps all have DOT markings, as required by law. So you have 4 original beams on your car. The bad unit (with the vertical lines) is used for '69 - '74 (or thereabouts) cars.
Any good swap meet will have tons of these available. Just BE SURE TO TEST THEM before you buy. Sometimes, under test, they immediately start to smoke internally, and soon burn out. I have bought many of these at $5 - $10 bucks each, and keep a few as spares (for that price, why not!). I have had good luck, but you gotta be a smart shopper.
Lots of folks opt for the $100 repro set. They are actually better than originals because they are brighter, in line with modern safety standards. You can also rest assured that they will last a long, long, time.

The repro ones have incorrect DOT markings on them??? So they won't judge, right? So why would I want to buy them? Why wouldn't I simply use modern incorrect ones?

That is not true. The Standard Deduction for a set of reproduction T3 lamps, WITH DOT markings, is 3 points, FOR THE ENTIRE SET. So, besides nearly all originality points, the lamps would likely recieve 100% of their condition points.

Three more good reasons for using the reproductions:

          1. They will almost certainly all work during ops test.
          2. They will almost certainly all work during Performance Verification, if applicable.
          3. They deliver better lighting than original units.

The only reason that I can see for not using them, is the price. Last time I looked, I think that they were $100.00/set
