    Mid america corvette covers?

I noticed that Mid America Corvette has the "Coverbond 3" cover on special for $89 for a C2. Anyone familar with that cover or others from that supplier? It is listed as a 3 layer non-woven material. I need a new cover that I can use both inside and outside on nicer days that is not too bulky to handle. There are so many to choose from with so many different fabrics. Any advice?

    Tim,

I just got one for my C3. It is a thick material and it is easy to use. I feel it is much better than the ones from the autoparts store.

Also check Mid Americas car cover exchange program. If you send them an old cover, they will sell you the Coverbond 3 for $59.99.

Thanks Mike. So yours is also the Coverbond 3? Would you say it is bulky, to store or take on/off the car? I was hoping that I would be able to wash it. Thanks for your response!

        Tim,

It is a little bulky but it seems all of the car covers that are multi-layered are. It is easy to roll up and place in the storage bag. It fits nice on the car and is also easy to take on and off. The ends have elastic all around and the mirror pockets are in the right place. I don't know if it would fit in a home washing machine but probably would in the large ones at the laundromat. For $59 it is a good deal for my daily driver. I don't know if I would use it on a show car.

FWIW, I had a Coverbond 3 for my 71, and my Dad currently has one for his 2002.

I sent back the one for my 71. It fit WAY too tightly and was a bear to install, so I returned it and paid the extra $ for a Noah. I now have one Noah for each car, and really like them. For the better fit I think they are worth the money.

Dad kept his Coverbond, but he and I both agree it fits too tightly. It's slightly easier to get on than the one was for my 71 since he doesn't have chrome bumpers sticking out, but not by much.

When I returned mine, I did send a letter of explanation to Mid America. We'll see if they make any changes....
