      Re: OLD Rochester???

Seems like I always have to prove everything I say here so I suppose this shouldn't be any different. I'll dig out the paperwork on it and post it. It was Sept 1 & 2 of 1989 so if your in a hurry, you can check in with Road America because they keep all of this info on file also.

The car owner was Bill Morrison but registered and raced in my name.

Have at it! It's www.roadamerica.com May have to search in their archives

And, the pass, coming into 5, just like I said. Paperwork, documentation and story from the magazine coming soon but may take a while to find it.

There were a few other people surprised too. You aren't the only one Jerry. I don't post BS on the discussion board. I don't try to answer everyone's questions if I'm not sure of the answer and I'm not here to try to impress anyone. I talk about the things I know and if people don't believe it, I usually just move on but I thought this one deserved special attention.

                          Re: OLD Rochester???

Thanks Geezer,(I was going to be geezer on the board until I found out it was already taken) Those were really fun times. At the end of that event, Morrison, the car owner, asked if I had a good time and I told him I was pretty sure that it was "the most fun a guy can possibly have with his clothes on".

People still send pictures even now, 15 years later, and ask if that was the Fuel Injected car that beat the GT40 and Cobra.

I may be having a very senior loss of memory, but are you any relation to the Jerry Hansen who virtually ruled Elkhart Lake in the '70s?

I wish I could say that I was his older brother and that I taught him everything he knows about driving, but... no, no relation.

Jerry; You been to a vintage race at Elkhart lately? Vintage Corvettes are turning mid to high 2.20's now. The very Car Hansen is talking about ran a 2.25 the last 2 years the current owner was there. Course it has a $50k 327, but looks pretty normal from the top.
