    Towing a C3

Is it okay to tow a 1070 with one of those two wheel dollies? Would it be best to back it on so that the transmission is not turning? ANy help would be appreciated. I dont want to buy a trailer but need to move it about two hours away. Thanks

You can rent a lightweight trailer from U-Haul that would be much better for you car as well as safer. We used one two years ago to transport a 66 convertible 3 hours each way to a Chapter Meet. It was not very expensive, either.

U-Haul is pretty reasonable on a round trip rental, since you are renting it by the day with you returning to the same place it left. When you go one-way, the rates go up sharply.

However, you don't want to tow yours backwards on the dolly. And towing it forwards means keeping to about 30 mph for a few miles at a time, or disconnecting the driveshaft. And we know how much fun that is in a C3.

This is where you could use a few friends. Either ones you could borrow a trailer from or get to go along and haul it for you. If you are in a local club or chapter, you can ask around. If there is one where you are going, you can ask there. It never hurts to ask, you may create a very strong friendship with someone. (or shatter it)

If you are making a round trip, then U-Haul is about the best suggestion.

        Patrick,
Did you get the driving points?

That one wasn't my car...but I was driving the truck that hauled it. So I should then, right?
