I know that the only tunes I need in my '65 come from under the hood, but I'd like to get the radio fixed. My electronic genius friend has determined that the radio is dead. Any recommendations for competent repair persons is greatly appreciated.
I used Charles Siegfried in California. Great guy and will do a good job. But read my posting just below yours. I think that my radio problems are out of the norm. Charles is very high on customer satisfaction and comes highly recommended. If you want, email me and I will give you his contact info.
I am also looking for a restoration service for the radio in my C2. I want to retain stock appearance but have modern componets installed and stereo. I have done some research on Westech Radio Repair. Has anyone had any experience with them? Thank you in advance.
I believe Westech Radio is a good choice. I was about to convert my radio as well but at the last minute I decided to try a refurbish by DoctorDon radio. If I get ahold of a non-working radio I plan on sending it to Westech for a stereo conversion. When I spoke with him he said after one of his radio conversions no one would know but me.
Dr. Don Rose was a great DJ on a radio station in the SF Bay area in the 70s and 80s. When I saw the post, I sent what I thought was an e-mal to a great old guy. I neglected to see the "s" on the 'drdoctons" website. Hence the terse reply. I've corrected the oversight and gotten the right address. I'll be sending him my radio for rebuilding.
Thanks Ralph, one less glass of vino before I check my messages.
