1969 coupe 350/300 auto w/ac. Now has a 5 blade fan. Is this correct or should it be a 7 blade fan since I have ac? Car all original as far as I know and appears to have original fan but think it should be a 7 blade fan.

Re: 1969 Clutch fan- 7 or 5 blade
Ann,
According to the TIM&JG, original ac cars usually have a 7 blade fan, but some original cars can have a 5 blade, but the blades have a greater pitch than the non-ac 5 blade fans. 7 blades typically have part numbers and date code stamped on one or two of the blades. 5 blade fans typically have no date codes. Maybe someone else would know the pitch angles of the two different 5 blade fans to help you determine if you have a "correct" 5 blade, as I don't have that specific data.

Re: 1969 Clutch fan- 7 or 5 blade
Dave and Ann-----
There was only one 5 blade fan used for 1969 and that blade assembly was GM #3888366 which is NOT marked on the assembly. Most 300 hp cars with a/c received this blade assembly but it's possible that some received the GM #3955182 7 blade unit. This fan blade was used for most 350 hp/350 and 427's with a/c.
In general, I would say that if one has a 1969 300 hp with a/c and that car has a 5 blade fan, then there is a HIGH liklihood that the fan is original to the car. If one has such a car with a 7 blade fan, it may or may not be original to the car.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
