67-68 turn signal switch

Dear Members,
I spent about a week chasing down an original p/n 5698520 to have it sold right beneath me. The parts guy at some Chevy place in Sacramento hesitated and my switch went East. I remembered using Shee-Mar for the FoMoCo switches while I previously worked for the other guys. I just received my switch and I am delighted! It was $10 cheaper and delivered UPS to my door. It has the original brown, plastic connector with the D-8-67 and Delco Remy on it. It even has the red BPM band around it. The ones from G.M. have a black connector and no Remy Delco connector. Shee-Mar P.O. Box 179, Longmont, Co 80502. Their website kinda sucks and I was unable to purchase on line, but when you call, Make Sure you order the #sm226 for 67-68 Corvettes.

I believe the original connector you are talking about was originally more "black" than brown and the lable that you refer to as red was originally "white" in color. Sounds like you have one of the newer replacement style switches. I bet the plastic that the switch is made out of is also a different color than original. I am sure it will work just fine though.

I figured that the broken switch I took out was also a replacement. When I compared my Shee-Mar to Paul's N.O.S. switch, It had the same BPM mold for the cam and base. Also my semi-circular connector is more like the original 67 unit, unlike Paul's $100 piece in it's GM box. Shee-Mar has quality stuff and for $50 plus change, I thought I would share with the Forum. My gain is your gain, I consider the people in Forum my friends!
