C1 Tach cable differences?

Is there a difference between the tach cable for a 56-57 dual quad versus a 58-60 tach cable? Length, configuration, etc? Thanks.

Yes, they're different. '56-'57 2x4 engines had the generator (and tach drive gearbox) mounted on the left side of the engine, and '58-'60 carbureted engines had the generator (and tach drive gearbox) mounted on the right side of the engine, with a much longer tach cable. Noland's book goes into detail on this on pages 250-252.

Thanks guys. I thought there would be a difference in the length due to the very point you made John. I continue to look for an original "smooth" steel case tach cable for my 56. Thanks again.
