    62 radiator side seals

My 62 340 hp was built around Nov. 11, 61. I have found that my rad support does have the side seals and looks to be untouched and original.

Per the AIM the side seals were added to uplevel (not FI)engines sometime after 1/23/62. FI seems to have had them from Start of Production.

The JGM says that all 62 340's had the side seals.

Is it possible/known that a rad support with seals were used on 340hp cars earlier than 1/23/62? I think it would be possible that my car was misbuilt with the FI part????

Can some of you check you 340 hp cars and compare build dates?

    Thanks

As per a long-ago article in the Restorer, you cannot base your assumptions solely on the AIM. Often it reflected things that were changed much earlier and only documented then. At other times it corresponded with a change. At other times it foreshadowed a change that came to pass much later when the existing inventory ran out, and at other times it called out something that never happened (idler pulley on 340/360 HP cars). AND, at other times, it simply indicated a change in how the part was supplied. (the brake drums no longer having the anti-squeak springs applied at the factory, because they were coming from the supplier with the springs installed.) As you have correctly done, you've chosen to look at/ask for what's been done on real cars. That has already been done, and is reflected in the statement that already is in the judging manual. I can tell you that for a fact, since I led the team in answering that question many years ago.
