    P235-75-15

Will P/235/75/15 tires adequately fit into the wheel wells of my 68 without rubbing?

    Thanks,

Probably yes, but why not use something a little closer to original?

Go with one of the three V-rated P225/70R-15 police pursuit tires.

I've used 235-60-15's on the stock 8" rims for my 69 and 70's with the F41 suspension and they don't rub.

75-section tires are kinda skinny compared to the aspect ratio of the originals...

                John —
I thought that the aspect ratio of the originals was 78%, like all 6.70-15s etc, until the F70 and G60, etc came out. At least, that is my recollection, but I sure ain't gettin any younger.

I tried to put a set of Goodyear Eagle RS-A P235/75R15s on a 1970 with F41 without success. They would probably fit with the standard suspension. I'll give any member a great deal on them. E-mail me if you are interested.

                        Sal:

I put on a set of Firestone Firehawk 235/60 15's on my 68, and they do rub just a little at full wheel lock.

I now wish I had gone with the Police tires that Duke and others are recommending.

I got a price on the police tires at around (Firestones they were) 120 each.

                        The Firehawks were 65 each.

Since I don't drive my car that hard, I figured they would be OK, given the cost savings, and the other stuff I needed at the time!

                          Re: P235-75-15

If the section width is the same (235) then the 75 profile is larger diameter than the 60 series, so wouldn't the 235-75-15 rub worse than the 235-60-15?
                          Thanks,
                          Mark
