This would be illegal in most states, get a state issued Vin.

At one time you could go through Chevrolet to get a new vin of course it will not look like the one that came on the car. but it would be better than a state vin. also you could check with Chevycraft if he is still doing those?

I stand to be corrected, but Uncle Billy C of Chevycraft has pretty much abandonded the car market and is a playin' talk show host on KDAV AM radio in beautiful Lowbuck Texas.

I was at the "Pate Museum" swap meet in Ft. Worth in the early 80's sitting there with "Wild Bill" when a gentleman asked how much Bill wanted for the a rare "NOS" 55 Chevrolet wire wheel cover in the box which he had for sale. Bill responded $200! The buyer laughed at Bill and said "Hell I'll only give $25". Bill said "Pay me". The buyer handed Bill $25 bucks at which time Bill dropped the "NOS" hubcap on the ground and stomped on the wire wheel cover. He then picked up the smashed wheel cover and handed it to the buyer and said "I hope your $25 hubcab fits well on your $10 car"! He turned around and walked back to his chair with the guys $25. No, he did NOT give the guy back his $25 and the buyer left without his smashed hubcap! The cap was easily worth $150 at that time.
