C2: New tires uneven in well

I recently put new Coker redline tires (205/75R15)on my 67 convertible (327/300HP). All of the tires are even in the wells (front and back clearance- 2")except the left front where I have 1" front clearance and 3" back clearance.
On a low speed sharp turn I have a slight rub in the front left well.

Is this a body problem or a suspension problem? My tire man has inspected the suspension and doesn't see anything wrong with the frame or suspension, although noted that the original bushings are probably shot.

Would new front springs and a front suspension overhaul resolve my problem.

The car was hit once on the left front bumper with only enough force to bend the bumper brace back without fiberglass damage.

Jerry, Check the number of shims between the body and the frame on all the body mounts. I have seen 6 on a right front and 1 on a left front. This will cause an uneven mount and could be the source of the problem.

I would suspect that you have frame or suspension damage. If your body was that far off, you would be complaining of something else. If I couldn't find anything through a visual inspection, I'd take it to a frame shop. If the problem was a suspension component like A-arm or spindle, I would think a competent front end man would find it when he aligned the front end.

I have roughly two inches gap fore/aft around the front wheelhouse on my car, 205/75 tires and I get a slight rub on the frame at full steering lock in both directions. Nothing to worry about there.
