I was helping a new 1968 owner interpret his trim tag. He has vin #10685 and trim tag reads C 06. I told him to check the tag again, because it should read "G 06" because his car would have been built Feb 1968. But, another 68 owner chimed in and said that his trim tag clearly read C 29, and he knew his vin number put his build date at Feb 29, 1968. I checked the 68 registry and found 2 or 3 additional cars with vin's in the Feb 68 range where the owners listed the trim tag info as the letter C. Has this discrepency been noticed, or documented during the judging process? I may have to start a "survey" if it has not been done yet.

Re: 1968 Trim Tag - C instead of G
The difference between C and G on the trim tag (for any year, not just 1968) is minor and is in the distance of the opening between the "arms" of the letter. There is no flat on the bottom of the G - as there is in the font used here. It is quite common for the two letters to be mixed up, and often one has to refer to the VIN to determine which letter it is.Terry- Top
