Our 64 has an oil filter spin on adapter but we can not find an AC filter to fit it. One source said that ours was a smaller Ford style and that there is another style that has a larger attachment that uses the AC filters. Does this sound correct?

There were some that fit Ford filters and Chrysler filters. I think it was something like a Fram PH-8 for the Chrysler.
The best bet is to cahnge to a new spin on adapter that fits the standard Chevy filters or try to match the old one in a parts store. -

The filter I battled with to get off my '64 last week was a PH25. Fit too well as it was very difficult to get off. It fit the adapter that was on my car though.Comment
