'62 Starter Solenoid

Is the Bakelite on a '62 starter solenoid black or brown? Or, could it be either? In particular, a 300hp motor, with manual trans.

All 62 starter solenoids were th same--9910. Bakelite was either black or so dark brown that it appeared black. Not the brown that you often see in replacment solenoids.
