C1 Fuel Gauge Sending Units

Anybody bought a C1 fuel gauge sending unit recently? Starting a few years ago, all I heard were problems with them. Especially the foreign made ones. Need to buy one, and am wondering if those problems have gone away. Anybody got a recommendation for a source?

It's still available from GM under GM #5642125. It GM lists for about 140 bucks, but you should be able to do a lot better than that.

Do you know if the GM one is US made?

Is it also a Delco part?

The last I checked it was US made. Nowadays, I suppose that anything is possible.

I don't know of a Delco part number for this piece; I think that it's a GM part system only item.

I purchased one in february for my 1960 from Corvette Central, it works fine. It comes with the correct fitting for the gas line and the pick-up strainer all for $69.
