I am a bit confused on control arm pivot shaft and bushing (large threaded parts) finish and just want to confirm my next steps.
Per the '62 JGM "the following parts were not painted:...bushings, ...,lower and upper inner shafts"
Per Nolands photos on pg. 223 all these parts are black on a proving grounds vehicle. In the Paragon catalog the lower inner shaft appears unpainted and the bushings black. The lower outer appears all black.
Inspecting my old parts I believe my parts are unpainted, however it is difficult to be sure with the rust.
Am I reading the JGM correct and these parts should not be black? Everything I found the in archives refers to midyear and above.
FYI: the link shows the yellow marks I found on my steering parts. This car has different marks on each side on the lower control arm pivot shaft.
