Balancer Bolt Painted/Natural?

What was the balancer bolt painted (color) or natural on 68 Small Block. The bolt goes through the balancer pulley which is painted semi-flat black, therefore it could have been on the engine assembly as a unit when painted orange or not there and installed with the pulley and semi-flat or natural or some other finish. Thanks for any help.

It was installed at St. Louis, so it's unpainted; most likely it's dark phosphate.

Thanks John and will see you in Windsor.. But not with this car, still alot of work to do. This will be my winter project.
