The threads on a brake line fitting don't perform any sealing function of any kind; brake line SAE inverted flare fittings seal where the two flare surfaces meet, not at the threads. Just ensure that both flare surfaces are smooth, clean, and free of any pits or cracks.
I typically put an anti-seize lubricant on the brake line threads. Most of these line screw into cast iron pieces which always seem to rust. Anyway, it helps on future repairs.
