    flat spot on tires

I have a set of the Goodyear F-70-15 repoduction tires. that I bought years ago when they first came out on the market. My car has been in storage on those tires for alot of years an they have flat spots. is there any hope of getting those flat spots out of the tires? Can you drive them out? how many miles would it take? would just driving slow for say 20 miles do it? anyone who has done this let me know.

Do a thorough visual safety inspection on them, set to recommended pressure or a little higher, then drive the car. Pick a route that will slowly increase speeds up to and including highway speed for at least five minutes.

I think the OE F70-15 were nylon cord and nylon cord tires typically flatspot overnight, but round out once they heat up from driving.

"Many years" is a lot longer than overnight, especially if they went flat during storage, but it doesn't cost anything to try to drive them out.

If several tries do not round them out, then they are probably permanently out of round.

This can be sometimes corrected by truing the tire on a shaving machine.

It ultimatelly comes down to how much money you want to throw at an old set of tires to bring them up to spec, when there is no guarantee they can be saved, Also, I would not use them for extended driving. Buy another set of wheels an mount modern tires. Save the F70-15s for local shows.
