    wcfb choke gets stuck open!

After receiving such great advice on the grease fitting for the steering box on my 60, I thought I would give you guys a shot at this one!I find that the choke on My spare WCFB, currently on my 230 hp,gets stuck in the open position. That is when I turn the car off after a ride, and then restart the next day the choke plate won't reset closed. I remove the air cleaner and find that the butterfly plate is actually stuck. There is resistance when I manually open the throttle and attempt to close the butterfly by hand, until I hearand feel a distinct snap and then the plate will close and operate normally until the next cool down cycle. I suspect the choke stove is the problem as I don't see any other linkage binding problems. I am wondering if the internal piston is not the binding problem. Any diagnosis suggestions would be appreciated.

I had the same problem with my 1962 WCFB and I had to send it to Bob Kunz for refurbishment. It works correctly now. I'm not sure of his number right now but he advertises in the NCRS magazine and Hemmings.
