I just bought a 1972 that was owned by the original Calif. owner until 10/03. How do I go about finding out the name and address of this person? I know this information has previously been posted, but I can't seem to find it now that I'm trying to find it. Can I write to Calif. DMV with the vin?
Bill,
I called the Dept of Motor Vehicles in Sacramento, they told me to send them $5.00, vin # and a request for records on the vin.
They sent me back names, dates but no addresses and only back to 1980 for my 67.
Do a google search for their phone#. Good luck

To bad this purchase did not include documentation, owners manual, POP plan booklet, something with the owners name and where the car was bought. The seller if not the original owner would of had the original owners title. Lean on the seller he has to know. Did you get the original plates?
