C3 project opinions wanted

I have an opportunity to pick up a 69 427/390 roadster for dirt cheap, that's the good news, the bad is that it was in an acident, and needs a complete front clip, door to door, including inner fenders, radiator, headlights.. as well as a left rear 1/4 panel. I'm figuring about $15-17K to make it right and I still will have a salvage title.
Now for your opinions: am I realistic on the cost?
will it be worth the 25K i'll have in it?

Bruce If it has an original block and you do all the work yourself you stand to make about $.10 cents per hour for your time after you take off the cost for the parts. If you pass on the car E-mail me I like a challange and 69's. Lyle

If you are putting $15-17k in it, have $25k in it, you are buying it for $8-10k. That is NOT cheap, and especailly not dirt cheap.

I think you'll find you have more. $20k in it easily to be worth the big bucks.

And the salvage title will always haunt you.

Then there is time. Figure 6 months if you quit your job and work only on it.

You know, you can find a nice one in the $15-$20k range ready to drive right now, instead of a year or two from now.

Thanks Guys, I do my math based on past experience with my 62, ( a lot of unexpected hidden costs ) I rounded up by a couple of thousand... Mike, I read your tips for buying a corvette about 5 years ago, just before I ignored it and bought the 62 , and re-read it yesterday, just to try and cool the fever, and I probably wanted to be talked out of this one as well...
