Judges will view carbs along a five axis inspection system for originality:
Finish
Date
Installation
Configuration
Completeness
To the degree a given carb deviates from the factory original, then you sacrifice 20% of the available originality points for the violation of that axis. So, if the current carb is dated too late for your car, that's a violation of the DATE axis and replacing it with a later service replacment carb ALSO violates the DATE axis--no net benefit....
But, if the replacement carb also has some other differences, like subtle geometry change(s), other identifying stamping marks, Etc. you could compound
the deduction by losing the Configuration axis....
If the end game is to wind up with a zero point deduction set of carbs, then I'd start talking to those skilled in tri-power restoration about a 'packaged' service: restore what's right on your existing carbs and swap what's wrong for what's right as a packaged deal.
